levo-cli

The terminal on this site is its own product: a command parser with history, autocomplete, man pages and commands that move you around the site.

01

The problem

  • Portfolios ask you to scroll. Engineers like to type. The terminal lets both kinds of visitor in.
02

Architecture

ParserTokenises input, resolves aliases, routes to command handlers.
StateHistory with arrow keys, tab completion over known commands.
NavigationCommands like open, hire and work move the page, not just print text.
03

Key decisions

01

Same data as the page

The terminal reads the same facts file as the rest of the site, so it can never show a different number.

TradeoffCopy for the terminal is plainer than hand-written ASCII cards.
04

How it was verified

  • Works by keyboard only; focus stays inside the terminal while typing.
05

What I'd do next

  • Publish `npx levo` to npm.
  • Themes and a few easter eggs.
$ ./hire --re levo-cli
